elephant's child for early readers submitted by Sara W on July 13, 2019, 7:20am The Tadpole Tales series is great for new readers, the pictures help with the story-telling and there's just enough text to get practice in without getting too frustrated. The story itself on this one is a simplified Elephant's Child fable which was fun and familiar.
Retold submitted by kathscot on July 30, 2022, 3:29pm A bit odd for today’s child - it seems to say it’s bad to be curious and doesn’t explain why the elephants don’t answer or why the crocodile bites the nose. But it is child length and could lead to reading Kipling (which is great language and great fun) aloud to the child.
