The Other Story Behind the Sinking submitted by tudorprincess on June 17, 2016, 5:39pm This book grabbed me from the very first page and I could not stop reading it until the end. It’s the story of the ship the Californian and her crew, who stopped her engines for the night only miles from where the Titanic eventually hit an iceberg and sank. It’s a tale of misplaced loyalty and arrogance but also of heart-wrenching guilt. Was the tragedy that unfolded in April of 1912 simply due to a long list of mistakes on the parts of the crew of both ships? Or is it possible that there was something more sinister behind what happened?
