Moving submitted by faiyafrower on July 5, 2011, 10:10pm A short, but very moving story about the importance of family and how material wealth blinds humanity.

Rich submitted by kferguson on June 28, 2017, 8:38pm Rich with emotion

Enjoyed it! submitted by evie2017 on August 25, 2017, 6:36pm A quick read, but a throughly enjoyable read. I picked this up on a whim one day at the library and am so glad I did. Steinbeck writes in a way that suggests a possible meaning behind the tale, but leaves a lot open to the reader's interpretation. His writing style flows effortlessly and is filled with detail. I really enjoyed this little book.

Sad but good submitted by jayzwack on July 25, 2019, 3:52pm A unique Steinbeck book. Very sad and makes you think about society and how some things change and some things stay the same...

My favorite Steinbeck novel submitted by crp on August 6, 2019, 7:21pm Has stayed with me through the years as I consider just how much wealth is worth

Simple/Complex submitted by kat287 on July 2, 2023, 10:11pm One of my favorite classic novels—simple in its approach yet complex in its messaging
