Very Helpful! submitted by MartianSock on June 16, 2020, 11:52am I used this book for my school project, and it provided a lot of information. It talks about Bach’s Obituary in great detail, but also accounts for how it could possibly be biased, and even how some of the information is gained (such as J.S. Bach telling his family stories, which later was written in the Obituary). And, it doesn’t only talk about Bach being the most awesome person ever, as the Obituary kinda implies, but also talks about the times he got into trouble, and how he basically tricked people to get a raise and promotion. In conclusion, this book not only explains the Obituary, it also analyzes it in its context.
