Two hyenas from Africa find a pair of passports (memo: do not go swimming in a crocodile pool), and move to Teddington, England, where they live suburban lives, hold jobs, and raise their children to hide their tails and act human--the only trouble is old Mr. McNumpty, their nosy neighbor, who is hiding a secret of his own.

You should read this book submitted by ILoveSharks on June 18, 2018, 3:38pm This book is funny. There is a back story. Any kid who can read would like this book. My favorite character is Mr. Bold because he has lots of funny jokes.
Fantastic childrens book

The story characters are a family of laughing hyenas, as they work at adjusting to a house in a city neighborhood. The book contains a number of jokes too. I read a review that suggested the book for 4-10 year-olds, but it could also easily be read to younger children especially since it is divided into short chapters. The tale addresses difficulty of fitting into new places, and to keep trying, a topic suitable for kids of any age. I was very impressed with how well the writing and illustrations fit together.
It was impressive too that human values like honesty and being nice were valued. They enjoyed the happy ending too. Top of the list, a quality product. And great news, it is 1 of a series of 6 published; so there is more to look forward to...
