Intrigued & Annoyed submitted by Beth Manuel on June 20, 2012, 3:56pm While I kept reading this book past my 50 page rule, I was curious enough to read to find out why Felice, the now 18 year old runaway, had left her loving family in the first place. Her running away, to me, was inexplicable, even after the reason was divulged. The Mother, Avis, is a pastry chef, and while there are many fine details about her pastries & they sounded delicious, the exhaustive descriptions of her fancy-schmancy edible works were distracting.

It was OK, not gripping.
