Great book! submitted by Morgsush on June 15, 2012, 9:33pm This is a wonderful sequel to The Lost Hero. Rick Riordan writes a book full of excitement and adventure - you won't want to put the book down!

Excellent book! submitted by Smiles on June 16, 2012, 10:27am This is an excellent sequel to The Lost Hero. Percy is found in the Roman camp and Nico is there too. It is a very good book--full of adventure and cliffhangers--once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down.

=) submitted by DoodleBob on June 17, 2012, 12:24pm I enjoyed this book a lot!

great book submitted by zachh on June 18, 2012, 10:37am This book is great. It is by far Rick Riordan's best book. I highly recommend it.

Son of Neptune submitted by unknown on June 18, 2012, 4:17pm At first I didn't like this book because I preferred Percy Jackson as the main character. Then I started this book. It was great!!! It was so annoying because I could only read short bits at a time. I was extremely satisfied with this book!

Fun sequel submitted by rokakisk on June 24, 2012, 11:15am If you like Riordan's other books and were a fan of the Percy Jackson series, this book is for you. This series is based of off the Percy Jackson series, so it includes some of the same characters and mythology. But there are also a lot of new characters and story lines to keep it interesting. It has the same Greek myth gone modern feel and will definitely leave you wanting the next book! I would recommend reading the first book, The Lost Hero, before reading this one.

liked it submitted by unknown on July 2, 2012, 10:50am lots of action

Best Ever! submitted by andrewardle on July 2, 2012, 3:29pm This is a perfect epic sequel to the lost hero. I am now reading it for the third time. And can't wait for the mark of Athena to come out.

P.S. danger! You won't want to put it down!

This book is full of adventure and always keeps my attention, while enjoying the journey by these come to life characters, I learn more interesting facts about Roman mythology. I recommend this book and the other one in the series to all fans of Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson, and mythology and adventure lovers.

Exciting! submitted by nadyadm on June 14, 2015, 6:03pm I liked it, but it wasn't as good as the first ones. I liked that it had different perspectives.

mehh... submitted by Lilymarie on July 14, 2015, 10:38am it's not as good as the lost hero or any of the other percy jackson book, but it's still pretty good. 7/10 in my opinion

awesome submitted by kate uleman on July 15, 2015, 9:47am Yes, maybe it is a bit different because the roman is in the story more then other of his books. But just read and a little longer and you will love it!

Great! submitted by Sa05k on July 27, 2016, 7:13pm Love it. A amazing book.

The Son of Neptune submitted by Alex Hannah on August 19, 2016, 11:11am Percy, Hazel & Frank go on a week long quest to save Rome from Gaia.

It was an exciting read! submitted by ldibble on June 20, 2017, 11:04am This was different than the other Percy Jackson series as it focuses on the Roman Gods rather than the Grecian Gods. It was the same in that Percy was working with friends to go on a quest in order to save a God... I had amazing fun getting lost in the story and had to be reminded to turn it off (sorry mom). It even got my grammie interested in the series! I think that anyone 7 + will enjoy this story.

The Son of Neptune submitted by Margaret Florence on June 23, 2017, 2:03pm I loved this book. It kept me awake at night for hours (until I finished it)! :-)

Epic submitted by Bigal2212 on August 22, 2018, 1:59pm Great addition

Another great series in the Camp Half Blood world! submitted by Xris on August 27, 2018, 11:14pm We continue with Jason, Piper, and Leo, but they learn about another camp for the Roman half bloods, and someone else who showed up there. I love that there are more books to read about this universe!! I like that they bring some Roman mythology in to go with the Greek mythology.

The son of Neptune submitted by c_zhang on June 21, 2019, 1:32am A great way to introduce Roman mythology to the already rich world filled with Greek myths.

Good book submitted by jasonc1177 on July 31, 2019, 7:42pm Kind of overrated, but I read through the whole thing, so...?

The Son of Neptune submitted by JHermanowski on July 16, 2020, 9:35pm Percy is back! Fun read with new characters! Draws you in quickly and can’t wait to keep on reading.

The son of neptune submitted by calvinandhobbes on July 31, 2020, 2:13pm Great book. If you liked the Percy Jackson series, then you will love this series.

Great series! submitted by nirmala on July 27, 2021, 9:38pm A worthy fun read

Great book! submitted by KatieD on August 6, 2021, 3:20pm I think that Rick Riordan took a risk but not having Percy be the main character of his first book in this series, but it totally paid off. I couldn't wait to start this one to see what happened to him and I loved having a familiar character in an unfamiliar setting. What a great way to introduce a whole new camp of demi-gods!

Son of Neptune submitted by Archit12 on August 16, 2021, 1:09pm Demigod Percy Jackson, still with no memory, and his new friends from Camp Jupiter, Hazel and Frank, go on a quest to free Death, but their bigger task is to unite the Greek and Roman camps so that the Prophecy of Seven can be fulfilled.

This is SOO GOOOD submitted by MarinaKaori2904. on June 12, 2022, 10:02am Hazel: Percy, meet my half-brother Nico
Nico: *ahhh it's my crush, act natural, act like you don't know him* Hi, my name is Nico di Angelo *damn it I screwed up Hazel already told him my name*
Percy: Hi Nico, my name is Percy Jackson
Nico: *OMG he said my name*
Percy: *I've seen this boi before...*
LOL my favorite part of this book

Suspenseful submitted by sumisood on July 10, 2023, 9:58pm After leaving me guessing on where Percy was in the first book, we go back to Percy's point of view in this one. This is a great book!

Probably the Best in the Series submitted by am_nich21 on August 8, 2023, 9:57am Of all the books in the Heroes of Olympus series, I think this one works the best. Riordan really writes a better story within the constraints of his universe: quests are done by groups of 3, and are wrapped up in one book.

I really enjoyed Frank and Hazel in this book, and it's the only time in the series I feel like their characters were fully done justice. One of the benefits of the alternating points of view is that this story really has 3 fully fleshed out characters whose inner lives we get to see.

This is one of my favorite books to reread in this series, give it a shot and I'm sure you'll love Hazel and Frank as much as I do.
