Interesting, But a Bit Slow submitted by MollyWiding on July 23, 2019, 6:58pm The first time I tried to read this book, a couple of years ago, I didn't finish it. I gave it a second chance and made it through this time, but am not going to read the sequels. It's one of those fantasy novels with a great concept that just doesn't quite have the writing or character-building to flesh out the story. I found so many of the side characters either annoying or bland. The things this book does really deliver on are some interesting discussions of freedom, censorship, power dynamics, and skepticism.
