* submitted by marisal on June 26, 2011, 11:46am A fun ryming kids book!

4 year old Favorite Book! submitted by angejohn on July 29, 2011, 4:09pm My youngest absolutely LOVES the text, illustrations, and whimsical tale. He has the tee shirt now to match his own copy of the book and to show his affection for a fun story that emphasizes the importance of trying something new.

Good Early Reader submitted by wickedcellist on June 25, 2012, 2:22pm The repetition of words and rhyming made this a great book for building confidence in my preschoolers reading. And it helped encourage trying new foods in our home too!

Repetition, but not boring submitted by kathscot on August 6, 2012, 12:03pm Even though the words repeat, there are subtle changes that make you read, not just memorize. And the pictures are so fun. Plus a surprize ending.

Green eggs and ham submitted by Avik on August 15, 2013, 11:17am I like the song version of this book.

Great story and positive message submitted by cbrewster on August 26, 2013, 12:44pm One of my all time favorites! Such a fun story to read! It teaches kids (and a good reminder to adults) that they should never say that they don't like something until they try it. I would definitely recommend it!

I like it! submitted by Fleepae on June 15, 2015, 10:13am He tried green eggs and ham!

Green Eggs and Ham submitted by candyceh811 on July 26, 2015, 9:25pm A great book that teaches children about rhyming and encourages them to try new things.

super fun submitted by Jackie77 on August 10, 2015, 2:03pm Super fun rhyming book. Good for teaching youngsters to read as well.

great submitted by poptart887 on August 22, 2016, 7:25pm great rhyming fun for the whole family

Classic! submitted by KOH on June 21, 2018, 11:41am Fun to read to little ones or have them read to you. A silly rhyming classic!

It's a classic for a reason. submitted by lisa on July 23, 2018, 12:05pm Adult [read: boring] version:

Would you eat them with a fox?

Well, personally I'd rather not, and if a fox has to be around, could it please be kinda far away, so I can relax a little and enjoy this breakfast?

I would read it in a box... submitted by scarlettsquill on July 24, 2018, 11:15pm Funny rhymes and a positive message! It is on the long side for my toddler, but we enjoy reading it small parts at a time. Also, the illustrations have lots of recognizable things to identify, which is not true of all Dr. Suess books.

Sing-song voice submitted by majean on August 8, 2018, 7:28pm This is a fun book to read aloud with kids.

Dr Seuss Classic submitted by halliejewell on August 18, 2018, 7:52am Have loves rediscovering this classic with my kids. They love the fun rhymes!

Green Eggs and Ham submitted by tbbrown76 on August 18, 2018, 11:52am The title sounds disgusting. But, after much hesitation our main character tries them. He's surprised that he likes them! Nice art. Simple words. Repetitive but really fun. Highly recommended.

It's very Silly! submitted by SadieRose on August 19, 2018, 12:50pm A good book and a good lesson

Troubling submitted by ashflowtuff on August 22, 2018, 11:31am I remember enjoying this book as a kid, but when I recently read it to my kids, I actually found it really troubling. I get that the final message is supposed to be that you don't know if you will like something until you try it, but it's basically an entire story of bullying and ignoring consent and personal space. Sam-I-Am just won't take no for an answer, and eventually, the unnamed subject agrees to try the green food just to get Sam-I-Am to go away. Not really a message I'm keen to teach my kids these days. There's too many other great kids books out there these days to keep returning to this one.

I really like it - Ryan, age 7 submitted by Monackie on June 17, 2019, 5:10pm This is a fun story about someone that doesn't like green eggs and ham. And someone named Sam I Am keeps trying to make him eat it.

Classic submitted by Sa05k on July 19, 2019, 2:33pm This is a classic book every child should read, as well as other Dr.Seuss books.

Classic submitted by TLW1998 on July 21, 2019, 9:07pm This is classic Dr Seuss. It is a fun story with lots of rhymes.

Childhood Memories submitted by xiaoyun zhang on July 23, 2019, 9:56pm This was the very first book I ever read

loved it submitted by autumnmist on August 15, 2019, 1:49am One of my family's favorites we read it all the time

Such a fun read aloud submitted by JennJenn on August 4, 2020, 10:12pm This is one of my favorite read aloud stories. I love the repetition and the way you can just rattle it off.

Green Eggs and Ham submitted by SBNB on June 22, 2022, 10:56pm It's a classic for a reason. Fun book for all!

Totally silly, yet there's a lesson there! submitted by robinpollak on August 4, 2022, 7:31pm So fun to read out loud. And such a good reference point when we talk about trying new things.

:) submitted by leah karr on August 19, 2022, 5:34pm Smiles and giggles

Great lesson in a fun form submitted by neslerc on July 1, 2023, 12:12am Good way to teach kids the “don’t knock it til you try it” mentality (around food, specifically, but applicable to broader range of scenarios) and the importance of keeping an open mind

Do not like submitted by akrieg15 on July 14, 2023, 7:34am I remember this from being a kid and never thought much about it. After reading it to my kid, I was surprised at how much I did not like this. As another reviewer pointed out, Sam almost stalk the older person, harassed him and pressures him to eat all against his will after he told Sam that he does not like him. Sure the point of if u try something u may like it at the end, but this is not a great way to do that. Also research is now showing pressuring kids to eat in the way Sam does actually has the opposite effect and kids are less likely to eat what is offered.
