Amelia Bedelia and her mother share a summer vacation home at the shore with her aunt Mary (her mother's sister) and her cousin Jason, who has a wicked sense of adventure and a nose for trouble. With a local girl named Pearl as guide, the cousins build sand castles, swim and body surf, and learn how to sail. They are funny and entertaining books that often teach the meaning of many words that sound the same, but have different meanings. Amelia Bedelia is a hilarious character that even makes me laugh out loud. My 5-7 year old daughter loves to read these books, and they make her crack up. Even a couple years later, she still likes to reread these. They are funny, easy-to-read books. This book takes place at a summer vacation home.
