Awesome! submitted by llgosbee on September 10, 2011, 6:21pm This book is great! It is pretty long. But still, it explains how Crookedstar's tragic fall happened and what happened after, and how he got all the way up to being the leader. I do recommend it! -Katie 6th Grade

Pheonix's advice submitted by squijum on October 25, 2011, 6:07pm Did you know that: Crookedstar's old name was Stormkit? He and his brother, Oakkit (later Oakheart and Bluestar's (Bluefur's) mate) challenged whoever (forgot name, ThunderClan Med. Cat) because Hailstar (RiverClan's old leader) had recently claimed Sunningrocks and whoever was sunbathing on them. Whoever chased stormkit into the river ( he couldn't swim yet) and Stormkit broke his jaw on a rock. His name was changed to Crookedkit after he recovered.

oops, I'm giving the book away! but one more thing: did you know that Crookedstar took training from a Dark Forest warrior? her name is Mapleshade. And crookedstar only became leader bacause Shellheart, his father and the RiverClan deputy, resighned to the Elder's den and Mapleshade broke the jaw of the squirrel crookedjaw had just caught and Brambleberry ( Med. Cat) took it as an omen and said that Crookedjaw was to be the new deputy.

Fun submitted by T R W on July 29, 2021, 11:25am It's really interesting getting to learn Crookedstar's story. In the regular series he's just Crookedstar, leader of RiverClan, nothing more. But reading a book about his story is super cool.

There are of course some plots that are repeated from other Warrior cats books [SPOILER ALERT: being trained in the dark forest] but I don't mind it and really enjoyed reading it.

It's definitely a "light read" but it's easy to get into, and isn't as long as it looks.
