Excellent First Readers submitted by pk on July 10, 2012, 5:11pm All the Henry and Mudge books are wonderful first readers for children. The text is simple, but not boring and not too repetitive, as some first readers are. The drawings are very engaging. These booksare suitable for reading aloud. These short readers feel a little more like a "real book" due to the author putting in chapter markings. The story lines told are generally interesting, too. This book is about H&M going to the beach and what they find there. One of our particular favorites in the series

A great summertime story for kids from a great book series submitted by gokatiedid on August 10, 2018, 10:10am Once again Rylant and Stevenson create a wonderful book that makes you feel like you are right there with Henry and Mudge during their adventures. I like that some of their adventures are just Henry and Mudge and Henry's Dad - Mom gets a break sometimes and kids like to have fun with just their Dad's as well. A sweet ode to summer fun, the beach, and popsicles.
