A slow start... submitted by ldibble on June 20, 2018, 10:36am Quite a Year for Plums has a cast of characters that upon meeting you believe should be enchanting, however, the story line is slow to start and it is easy to get bogged down in the relationships that the characters have with each other. The language of the book is driven by character interactions and forces the reader to make inferences and learn both the people and town in order to make any sense of events. This is a book to read when you want a taste of community and are willing to work for it.
