This was such a poorly written book. Full of flat characters, YA clichés, and unrealistic dialogue and plot points. And it's a shame, too. The time is ripe for someone to write a hard-hitting novel about school shootings. Not to sensationalize them anymore than they already are - but to provide the kind of empathetic account that good fiction is capable of (as in the way Angie Thomas confronts police brutality in The Hate U Give).
Disappointed, to say the least.
