The best of intentions submitted by FordAlpha on August 15, 2018, 10:34pm The "Elephant and Piggie" books are well constructed, humorous stories for beginning readers. Any of them is a great choice for reading practice with a kid who is learning to read. Gerald the Elephant's fussy, worrywart ways occasionally become over-the-top annoying, but Piggie's cheerful spontaneity usually saves the day. Here, however, Piggie's well-intentioned efforts are the problem, and poor Gerald just can't get his much-needed nap. Tuckered-out parents will sympathize! The situation is especially relatable for parents of siblings who are sometimes a little too "helpful" with each other's naptime/bedtime needs.

So cute! submitted by KOH on August 27, 2018, 3:04pm Oh my goodness, this is one of Mo Willems' best Gerald and Piggie books. It's so funny- my kids and I laughed through the last half of it! I definitely recommend it for young readers (and their parents)!

Very funny book! submitted by wookeny on July 11, 2019, 8:41am The elephant in the book is super funny and so is the piggy. The elephant is really tired so it keeps saying that he is tried. Piggy tries to wake him up. I definitely recommend this book to everyone.

Thanks AADL for buying more copies! submitted by rea2mill on July 7, 2022, 2:16pm If the above reviews haven’t yet convinced you this is a great book and that you should check it out and read it to your kid(s), then let’s look at the numbers. As of today when I’m writing this there are 46 copies of this book in AADL’s collection, and only 4 copies are available to check out, and probably many of the 42 people with this book checked out (us for example) have this out for the second or third or possibly 20th time.
