Mrs. Hudson's Story

I found this addition to the Mary Russell/Sherlock Holmes story a little hard to get into at first - partially because so much of the beginning was Mrs. Hudson's backstory. It didn't really start keeping my interest until Mrs. Hudson met Sherlock Holmes. Also, the narrative shifts from Mary's story to Mrs. Hudson's story to Holmes' point of view quite a lot.
The second half of the book was a more gripping, and there were some very unexpected plot twists and I did like the ending.
