Fun Culinary Experiments submitted by Meginator on July 2, 2017, 12:03pm This book collects a number of Todd Wilbur's clone recipes for popular commercial foods, and all of the ones that we have tried have been excellent and, usually, quite close to the original versions. The book is accessible to both beginners (through clear instructions and step-by-step first-person photographs taken from a first-person perspective) and experienced cooks, who can use these recipes as jumping-off points to improve on their favorite commercially produced foods and flavors. By and large, these recipes use ingredients most cooks will have on hand, or that can be easily obtained; we haven't had any difficulty in this regard. I am especially keen to try some of the methods Wilbur suggests for producing certain textural effects, although I don't think that we will be pulling out the liquid nitrogen any time soon (see Dippin' Dots). We have had a lot of fun with this book thus far and I heartily recommend it.
