Thoughtful, Literary Fiction from a Master of the Short Story
submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on August 15, 2020, 6:00am
Paley writes such voice-driven stories while still giving us a sense of the broader events happening around her characters. The politics of her fiction expands so unpretentiously from the people she portrays that you'll never feel she's spoon-feeding you any opinions. Some stories are more enigmatic than others, but all require reading.
