COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Black Death submitted by BookNerd on July 23, 2017, 3:12pm In 1631, Hugh de Singleton, a third son with little chance of inheriting, is educated to become a priest. His discovery of the works of Henry de Mondeville, "Surgery" sets him on a path to becoming a physician.

This first book details how he became a surgeon in Bampton rather than a vicar in Oxford by solving the problem of how human bones were hidden in the cesspit of the Lord Gilbert, Baron Talbot. Who they belonged to, and how the murder came about are nicely explained with excellent period authenticity.

Extremely well written historical mystery series by a Michigan author
