I don't care if it's not true submitted by Caser on December 29, 2010, 4:30pm This is a very cool bio about one of the coolest individuals in music history. The entire book is predicated on the idea, presented in the prologue (which you can read in the google sample below), that any artist's life, indeed almost any person's life, is necessarily presented in a biography with as much fiction as there is fact. Waits' persona has been artifice since the early '70s and he has been layering that construct during his 40s years as musician. Hoskyns accepts this truth of this and runs with it. Good times.
