not Lois Ehlert's best submitted by FordAlpha on August 30, 2019, 10:13pm I like the subject and a lot of the details here, like the worms' hidden message, the plants' extensive root systems, the rhyming text, and the additional information at the back. But the illustrations are a little too abstracted and visually confusing at times, with so much bold, contrasting color that the eye doesn't know where to look.
