The Strain submitted by halofriendly on July 23, 2011, 5:58pm Wow oh wow. What a fantastic addition to vampire lore. The authors take the idea of a vampire and make it logically work into science and biology and then unleash an epidemic of them on New York. The first half of the book had me on the edge of my seat and I never quite relaxed after that. Can't wait to read the next two!

A Grand Entrance submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on June 15, 2014, 5:35pm A new breed of vampires in fiction, with an amazing and incredibly creepy first act. A passenger plane lands at the airport in New York, the power in it goes out, and there are no signs of life. The monsters are appropriately disgusting and the biology is detailed. A fun, ghoulish read. The best of the trilogy, due to its breakneck pace.
