friendship in crisis submitted by camelsamba on June 24, 2014, 7:45pm This book tells the tale of two boys, one Native American, one the son of the white owner of a trading post at a fort. Their friendship is tested as the War of 1812 heightens tensions between the white settlers and the native peoples. It is told as poems with alternating points of view - wonderful and lyrical.
