Clever and engaging submitted by redgar on August 29, 2016, 1:17pm Just as good as the first Blackthorn and Grim, the series keeps its style of engaging writing that pulls in Irish folklore, great characters, and unexpected turns of events.

Second in the series submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 15, 2019, 11:34am "Tower of Thorns" is the second in this author's series about Blackthorn and Grim. Read the prequel, "Dreamer's Pool" first to understand what is happening.
Blackthorn and Grim are the pseudonyms used by two escaped prisoners. They are both falsely imprisoned by a brutal ruler but manage to escape prison with magical help, then move to a new kingdom. Blackthorn is particularly bitter about what has happened to her but Grim provides a calming balance. In particular, the climax of the book proves how important Grim has become to Blackthorn.
The book provides a riveting plot line that brings the reader back to the sequels.
