lesser known but a great choice submitted by adimarzo on August 17, 2011, 9:31am This is one of the lesser well known books by Margaret Wise Brown (author of "Goodnight Moon") but it is a wonderful story. It has great pacing and rhythm and, after a few read-throughs, is enjoyable to read aloud. I love the detailed illustrations (when the story mentions a hen and 10 eggs, you can count all 10 eggs).
