random thoughts submitted by camelsamba on June 25, 2019, 10:33pm Random thoughts:
- The Pines subplot might be distressing for anyone who has had an elderly relative in a nursing home - not so much the sinister aspect (which feels a bit far-fetched) but the reminder of the bleak daily routine. (And then there's the fact that this subplot felt almost tacked on - a sort of padder to the page count.)
- How many times do we need to be reminded that Hamish's accent becomes more sibilant when he is distressed? It was at least twice in this book... someone should put up a tracker.
- Continuity note: He keeps thinking that Lugs wasn't jealous of Priscilla, but Priscilla was gone from his life before Lugs arrived so how can that be?)
