Dragonsong submitted by SBNB on June 15, 2018, 3:22pm This book focuses on the journey of Menolly, and takes place around the same time as Dragonquest. Overall, it's a good book, good story, good ending, great characters, interesting world.

Dragonsong is one of my favorite books of all time submitted by valeriemates on August 22, 2019, 4:44pm Dragonsong, and its sequel Dragonsinger, are two of my favorite books of all time. I love the strong female teenage heroine, Menolly, and McCaffrey's spellbinding descriptions of the fire lizards and of Menolly's journey from her parents' horrible home into a place where she is welcomed and valued for who she is.

A lot of McCaffrey's other Dragonbooks have some seriously weird sex scenes that have not aged well, but Dragonsong is free of that, and is a real delight to read.
