Cozy Yarns submitted by valerieclaires on August 11, 2014, 9:59am I'm almost sad that I checked this book out in the summer, because it would have been the perfect thing to curl up with next to the fireplace in winter - under a knitted afghan, of course. Just like the things we knit keep ourselves and our loved ones warm, so do the stories behind and surrounding those gifts. From stories about reluctantly learning to knit as a child, to hands eager to hold the needles and wind the wool, and some stories from those who do not knit but whose lives were profoundly touched by knitters, this collection of yarns relating to yarns expresses a wide range of tales. The stories are mostly short, perfect for reading in lines, on the bus, or between rows of knitting, but are not so profoundly different that you can't just read straight through, soaking up all the knitting goodness at once.
