An Australian Christmas Pageant submitted by Meginator on August 20, 2022, 6:09pm This cute tale imagines a group of Australian animals putting on a traditional Christmas pageant, with the wombat struggling to find a part that suits his physical attributes and skills. Much of the book’s humor comes from the specific ways that the wombat fails in various roles, although he of course eventually finds one that fits him perfectly. This book has a gentle moral to it about everyone having particular talents, and the cast of characters makes for a nice change of pace for American readers. Altogether, while it is a bit on the simplistic side, it makes for a nice holiday tale.
