Emotional and cute story submitted by r-chopra on August 5, 2013, 8:00pm I liked this book a lot. Sarah and kids are portrait really well.

wonderful story submitted by weadockfamily on July 30, 2014, 11:37am This is a great story for children of all ages. I appreciate the fact that the language and content is appropriate...nothing objectionable. Highly recommended!!

It may be sweet, but it is pretty far fetched submitted by willow on August 5, 2016, 3:06pm I saw the Hallmark Hall of Fame version of this when I was a kid, and I admit, the story of this book is pretty sweet on one level. But it is also utterly unrealistic and kind of preposterous!

Classic Tale submitted by clb89 on August 28, 2017, 12:04am This is the tale of a heart broken farmer whose wife has died. He sends for a wife who lives by the sea, and enjoys drawing with chalk. She is not use to the country life and even starts naming the goats. She finds herself also raising his two children while trying to find where she belongs in this family. The farmer is very quiet, and has a lot to learn when it comes to love. Sarah helps him with this.

Sweet children's tale submitted by LVDS on July 26, 2019, 8:50am Heartwarming story, in the "olden" days on the prairie.

Sarah Plain and Tall submitted by czadams on August 27, 2022, 4:01pm I absolutely loved this book as a kid. Reading did not come easy for me but this was one of the first books that I was able to read and wanted to read over and over again.
I loved the way Caleb and Anna were trying to hold onto their memory of their late mom but also trying to grapple with the idea of having a new mom, Sarah. The story is so timeless and moving and so many lessons can be learned from this book. Particularly about moving on from years of grief and sadness!
