Jillian Cade (Fake) Paranormal Investigator submitted by pamhockey25 on August 13, 2016, 4:22pm Jillian Cade: (Fake) Paranormal Investigator, bills itself as “Buffy meets Veronica Mars” and if you liked either/both of these shows, this book is for you.

It was an entertaining read with some darker elements. The sarcasm and banter were GREAT. And the mystery was interesting and the monsters were great and even unexpected. I liked Jillian's relationship with her cousin. Her family background is an interesting part of the story.

It is a mystery with some good twists that I wasn’t expecting! Lies and fakeness were everywhere. Jillian grew up believing everything was a lie, so she turned out to be very skeptical. When she started confronting the truth, she played it off and came up with other explanations. Her skepticism helped her think things through logically. She approached people and places with caution. This is a flaw as well as a strength. She didn’t get close to many people, which affected her relationships. She has a lot of room to grow.

The romance was okay. The chemistry with Sky and Jillian was great! Their banter wasn’t too bad, either. I look forward to this relationship evolving over time.

I was really happy with the ending. It showed evidence of character growth. It was a good place to end for the mystery, characters, romance—everything, and there are definitly going to be more Jillian Cade books, and I am already looking forward to them!
