Great book submitted by Ilyjtwya on June 29, 2012, 2:29am I really enjoyed this book, and it was even better with the added notes. Since it is fairly old there are some events or items mentioned that I would not have understoond otherwise, so the explanations were very helpful. I read that this book was very scandalous for it's time, and I can understand that as there are implied homosexual relationships mentioned in the story. It is a very interesting story, and also provides an informative view at the beliefs and the time in which the characters were living.
Classic not to be Missed submitted by mbruno on October 8, 2013, 4:28pm This was one that I had never read, but I would have very much enjoyed as a young adult. I would not recommend it for any reader younger than a teen, but I would highly recommend it to adults and its a great one for a book group, especially one connected to a church or one regularly discussing morals. The analogy of the story - a picture of conscience - is engaging and thought provoking. The background information is useful, though I mostly skimmed the notes. (I've not read the edited version, but I read about it and understand it to be a duller story.) If you've never read Wilde, this would be a great one to start with.
