A Good Book submitted by 0liviap0pp on July 1, 2011, 6:53am The Horse And His Boy is a good collectible for C.S. Lewis and Narnia fans of all ages.

Wonderful! submitted by adilaura on July 1, 2011, 7:12pm CS Lewis does a great job of showing the reader the history and culture of the countries surrounding Narnia in 'The Horse and his Boy'.

cool submitted by sauerr on July 7, 2011, 4:51pm good series

Wonderful submitted by ldupuis44 on July 7, 2011, 8:13pm I think this is one of my favorites in the series. It is well written with possibly my favorite characters.

good book submitted by ColeenT on July 15, 2011, 12:17pm good read

C.S. Luis is your pusher submitted by ferdoble on July 31, 2011, 9:13pm The first book in this series is wonderful and imaginative. The following are still pretty good, but they get increasingly pushy on the religious front. By the end it just feels like I’m being yelled at by a priest, who is telling me to go to church.

The audio books were orinally narrated by Patrick Stuart, who does a fantastic job, I recommend them if you can find them.

Pheonix submitted by squijum on July 16, 2012, 4:18pm SO AWESOME!!!!

outlier submitted by mtrax on August 1, 2014, 8:48am This book always seems like the outlier in the series. I enjoy it, of course, and I think it is important to the series, but I kind of miss having Lucy and the other familiar characters.

great read submitted by tshish on July 18, 2015, 10:25pm great read for kids 9-12.

Worth It submitted by JoannaSulimin910 on June 24, 2016, 11:00am The Horse and His Boy has always been my favorite book in The Chronicles of Narnia. C.S. Lewis expands his already extensive world, and introduces the reader to a charming cast of new characters that seem to mesh in beautifully with the rest of the series. I love the interactions between familiar characters in the midst of their other book and the main characters in this one. If you enjoyed any of the other Narnia books, make sure to pick up this one!

Mercurial! submitted by terpsichore17 on July 24, 2017, 10:22pm The tale of Shasta and Bree is so different from the other Narnian tales, but I think that is the chief beauty of it. The escaped slave-boy on a talking horse, joining a girl and her talking horse - the various lions that pop up just when needed in the narrative - the very on-the-nose observation that when you are a slave, you start to lose the power of willing yourself to do things - the way that Calormen are known for their eloquent and elegant storytelling style. It is so distinct and rich.

also: who doesn't love Cor and Aravis getting married, so they could continue to bicker as conveniently as possible? Fantastic.

Great submitted by zmclaugh on August 2, 2018, 5:37pm This is a great book in the series. Great characters and a new bit of the world.

My Favorite Book in the Series submitted by benmurphysmith on August 26, 2018, 2:25pm Exciting and engaging adventure book.

New characters submitted by if2byu on July 25, 2019, 3:42pm This book turns from the standard Narnian characters and gives us new ones. Great story to break it up if you are reading them all in a row

Amazing book submitted by abigailmurphy on July 29, 2019, 11:55am All the books in this series are wonderful, and I think this might be my favorite.

Unexpected but good submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 21, 2020, 12:11am I love when a series has unexpected turns, including whole books about new characters. I think the Narnia series as a whole is very successful because of the threads that run throughout the books unify them without getting repetitive. I was surprised by how much I liked this one.
