voyage of self-discovery submitted by camelsamba on July 10, 2014, 4:20pm This was recommended by our principal (formerly our school librarian) after I complained about _Framed_ and its writing style. I can see why she recommended it: similar themes with a boy being misjudged by a teacher, along with the boy on a voyage of self-discovery. But in this book you also get to see the teacher's change process.

The 10yo enjoyed it so much he wanted to start again as soon as we finished - and he wanted to sleep in his sleeping bag to be like Mark, and he wants to go to REI. Doesn't want to go on a week in the woods, though - too long to be away from parents.
