Classic submitted by audreyh on June 12, 2015, 3:49pm This is book has been around for a while. On the one hand, many of the strategies presented by Bonney have been time tested. My major criticism of this book is that it is light on information about Verroa Mites. I should be clear, this is not the author's fault. Back in the 90's, Verroa were just getting started in the US, so there was not necessarily a need to devote an entire section of the book to Verroa management. Modern beekeepers, however, must constantly square off against these devious and destructive mites. Beginners should be aware that though the bulk of the information in this book is useful, research about Verroa is necessary to keep healthy hives.
