Relatable to all Children submitted by KPNF on August 27, 2019, 5:15am Children with siblings will relate to Tony’s experiences, such as enduring his block building’s destruction by his younger brothers or being told what to do by his older sister. All children can relate to Tony’s getting into to trouble for his reactions and inability to manage his feelings so well. A fun book that even provides some parent-child discussion points.
Quirky, cute, message-y submitted by FordAlpha on August 12, 2023, 10:41pm I'm generally put off by picture books with overt Life Lessons, but Tony Baloney makes his relatively palatable. I also found this book perhaps a little too quirky -- what's up with the green-can parmesan? -- but then again, real kids are very quirky in those kinds of unexpected ways. Overall, my kids liked Tony better than I did; I didn't quite get the appeal, but they asked for lots of re-readings. Like Tony, we have a fairly large family, and I guess they found Tony and his siblings very relatable.
