Medical expert Paul A. Offit, M.D., offers a scathing exposé of the alternative medicine industry, revealing how even though some popular therapies are remarkably helpful due to the placebo response, many of them are ineffective, expensive, and even deadly.

Sense and Nonsense of Alternative Medicine submitted by SBNB on June 19, 2015, 8:20pm This book is very interesting. It pretty much summed itself up at the beginning when it said that there is no alternative medicine. There’s only that which works and has been scientifically proven to work and that which doesn’t work and has no scientific proof behind it (or even proof that it doesn’t work). The book included a history of unproven remedies in this country starting from before there was an FDA. It’s quite interesting. I recommend it.
