Worth the Read submitted by jgerman79 on July 28, 2020, 8:55pm Not the best American Girl book I've read, but it does a really good job of introducing Kaya and her people. A very promising start. Definitely made me look forward to reading the next 5.
Good book submitted by Kristivan on July 18, 2021, 1:45pm good for younger readers too
first book in a very interesting series submitted by laurat on June 21, 2022, 10:04pm Learning about Kaya's life and the Nez Percé traditions is an interesting departure from the other American Girl books I've read to my kids so far!
Beautiful story submitted by czadams on August 22, 2023, 11:42pm I really liked this story, I think it was a story that need to be told way earlier. American Girl should have told stories of indigenous people first.
