Interesting Read, but Scientific? submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on August 10, 2019, 6:37pm It has become trendy to speak of a person's ability to translate expressions of feelings matter-of-factly as 'intelligence' and to treat it as a character trait that can be measured as emotional quotient (EQ). This is a prevalent view, for which there is no scientific evidence. Not like IQ, which is an obviously defined measure of cognitive abilities, researchers cannot settle on a definition of emotional intelligence and the various measures of EQ produce wildly different results. In addition, the assertion that EQ is twice as important as IQ is an egregious seat-of-the-pants falsehood.
