Great submitted by ljq on June 27, 2011, 8:16pm For the book clubs fourth year, Emma and her family are leaving for England and so, in honor of the Hawthornes, the book club decides to read Pride and Prejudice, Mrs. Hawthorne's favorite book. As Pride and Prejudice is a love story, the five girls in book club get a flower of romance of their own. Emma is separated from Stewart and their relationship shows the strain of distance. Jess is missing Darcy and doesn't know how she'll cope. Megan is swooning over the boy that's living in Emma's house for a year while Cassidy is dealing with her own Mr. Darcy. This book shows growth for all girls--Emma in her writing and possibility of getting published, Jess becoming friends with her one time enemy Savannah, Megan getting further in her fashion career and learning that sometimes, people don't like getting rididculed and Cassidy learning that there's another sport on ice that's not hockey. There's also changes in the book club with one of their members dying and leaving them a hefty sum to go somewhere and do something. Naturally, the book club goes to England and visits Jane Austen country.

I absolutely love this series because it's what girls want to read. It's not a random chick flick filled with trash--this book has substance. Heather Vogel Frederick includes many interesting facts about Jane Austen in this book as well as incorporates the story of Elizabeth Bennet into the girls' lives. For example, Simon, Megan's crush, is the nice and amiable Mr. Bingley, but when someone--Caroling Bingley, gets between them, they have to work hard to find their way back to each other. The story is even complete with the girls' own Mr. Collins in Rupert, Emma's English neighbor.

Overall, I highly, highly, highly reccomend this book. It's a fantastic story of friendship, crushes and the basic teenage girls' life. I honestly do not know when I have read a better realistic fiction book for girls. Heather Vogel Frederick simply is masterful in crafting her tale in Concord, Massachusetts.

Pies, Pies, Pies (oh yeah and prejudice) submitted by shalinigurl on July 10, 2011, 11:16am This book is fantastic taking about something that could happen any day while mixing it up with a different author's writing style. I really like this book and all of you reading my review must try it out too!

good submitted by alumeng.ajl on August 7, 2011, 11:42am i loved this book like i loved the entire series. I hope that this isn't the end.

Pies and Prejudice submitted by leehannah on June 16, 2012, 8:33am I read this book for my own book group with my friends. We all found it very interesting, hilarious, and sort of a cliff hanger. This made me want to read the next book! (If there is one.) I hope the author writes more of this series because I was really fascinated that those girls were similar to my friends and I. I think that you will enjoy this book as much as I did. Those of you who like; relationships, realistic fiction, and friendship, you have to read this book, it's meant for you!

LOVED IT submitted by v_library on August 10, 2018, 7:26pm I really felt like I was IN the book when I was reading it. It was a great book and it was my 2nd time reading it! It gets better every time I read it. :)

Totally Addictive! submitted by bookworms on August 26, 2018, 10:32pm The Mother Daughter Book Club: Pies and Prejudice is the 4th book in the series, and it is addictive! During this book, Emma's family moves to England for Year and swaps houses with an English family called the Berkleys. In England, Emma makes new friends, but also faces a rotten girl named Annabelle. Back in Concord, the book club girls start Alcott High, create a pie business, and find some unexpected romance. An absolutely charming book!
