Funny submitted by lulumama on June 27, 2013, 5:44pm Funny and clever. My 6yo loves Mo Willems.

He is different! submitted by rimpopu on July 26, 2013, 11:07am All naked mole rats are naked but one dares to be different. Wilbur likes to wear clothes! This book is more for silliness and humor than for education as we all know naked mole rats don't wear clothes. My kids liked it but not as much as other Mo Willems books like Don't let the pigeon drive the bus, or Knuffle Bunny, or Knuffle Bunny Too. They felt that other naked mole rats were too mean to Wilbur. That aside, it is a good reading. There is a message of acceptance of people who are different from you.

But they all had a good time submitted by LibraryMaven on June 14, 2014, 9:11pm This is perhaps the least didactic book about tolerance and being yourself currently on the market. Wilbur, a naked mole rat who wants to wear clothes, is an engaging character and the inversion of norms (no wearing clothes for naked mole rats!) will appeal to children. Simple illustrations still give each naked mole rat a distinct identity personality and enhance the text. Attentive readers will notice a cameo appearance by another much-loved Willems character. The simple but dynamic dialogue makes this book suitable for both beginning readers and read-alouds. The book is sturdy enough to withstand heavy classroom and library use, which is good since it most likely will fly off the shelves. Teachers and parents can use it as a good starting point for discussions of difference, tolerance, and standing up for yourself.

Not quite a classic but a good book nonetheless submitted by schriste on July 25, 2015, 9:17am Anyone who's read to kids knows there are some books that kids love and adults hate; the best books for kids are those written and illustrated so beautifully that they're simply good books. Mo Willems creates good books. That said, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed fell a little short to me. It reminded me most of Edwina the Dinosaur in that the pictures are more complex than the Piggie & Gerald or Pigeon series; the text is more detailed too. While my children enjoyed this story, I prefer Mo Willems at his most simple. It's worth a look and a read, and as LibraryMaven and rimpopu mention, it has a positive message about accepting people (and naked mole rats) for who they are (similar to Mr. Tiger Goes Wild), but I don't think it reaches the high bar of instant classic that so many other Willems books achieve.

Stuffies! submitted by jmprozinski on June 26, 2016, 8:13pm I loved it. You should never judge something by what's it's wearing. I would recommend this book to my friends. I would also recommend this book to kids who aren't that nice. It would help them act better. --Veronica, age 6

Great read aloud submitted by jmb.mlis on July 19, 2016, 11:34pm Great read aloud and fun to pair with Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown.
