Cass and Max-Ernest go on a field trip and manage to sneek and get on a ship. Thinking that guy who greeted them was Pietro, they went on the boat. It happened to be Dr. L (they're twins) and the ship is the Midnight Sun's ship. Dr. L and Ms. Mauvais (Dr. L's partner) question Cass and Max-Ernest on what Cass's stuffed animal is, because they assume it is a homunculus. Cass finds out what a homunculus is, and a homunculus happens to be in her dream each night...
