Audubon shot a lot of the birds that he painted, so in putting them together to model, he put them together incorrectly :o
Great pictures, nonetheless!
Audubon's Birds of America submitted by unknown on March 13, 2019, 2:54pm Anyone learning to draw or illustrate will not go wrong in viewing this book and practicing painting with watercolors or drawing with colored pencils. Audubon's lines and colors are just breathtaking, and he has taken the extra step in many cases of placing the bird in its native foliage or waterfowl in water, as if hunting for breakfast. At the time, this was an unusual way to do things, but today we take it for granted, because we have the luxury of cameras and photographs that immediately capture the scene as it unfolds.
