Willa Jackson of Walls of Water, North Carolina, has lately learned that an old classmate--socialite do-gooder Paxton Osgood--of the very prominent Osgood family, has restored her family's Blue Ridge Madam home to its former glory, with plans to open a top-flight inn. But when a skeleton, found buried beneath the lone peach tree on the property is found, Willa and Paxton must confront the dangerous passions and tragic betrayals that once bound their families.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Wonderful submitted by carr1_e on July 24, 2011, 7:49am Sarah Addison Allen has done it again. This was a beautiful and magical book about friendship and love, as told in a way that only Allen can. Lovely.

Not her best submitted by hiwatson09 on August 9, 2019, 5:45pm A light, romantic summer read but things come together a little too easy to be satisfying. It was a little frustrating to see Sebastian's perceived gayness be used as a foil for an unsurprising plot twist, and an assumed binary around sexual orientation. Beyond the shortsighted heteronormativity, the book is a fun romp through the mystical and wealthy white South, but not as enjoyable as The Girl Who Chased the Moon.
