"Jamie Glowacki--potty-training expert, Pied Piper of Poop, and author of the popular guide, Oh Crap! Potty Training--shares her proven 6-step plan to help you toilet train your preschooler quickly and successfully. Let Jamie Glowacki, potty-training expert and the popular "Pied Piper of Poop," show you how it's done. Her 6-step, proven process to get your toddler out of diapers and onto the toilet has already worked for tens of thousands of kids and their parents. Here's the good news: your child is probably ready to be potty trained EARLIER than you think (ideally, between 20-30 months), and it can be done FASTER than you expect (most kids get the basics in a few days--but Jamie's got you covered even if it takes a little longer). If you've ever said to yourself: ** How do I know if my kid is ready? ** Why won't my child poop in the potty? ** How do I avoid "potty power struggles"? ** How can I get their daycare provider on board? ** My kid was doing so well--why is he regressing? ** And what about nighttime?! Oh Crap! Potty Training can solve all of these (and other) common issues. This isn't theory, you're not bribing with candy, and there are no gimmicks. This is real-world, from-the-trenches potty training information--all the questions and all the ANSWERS you need to do it once and be done with diapers for good"-- Provided by publisher.
"Toilet-training expert Jamie Glowacki's self-published OH CRAP! POTTY TRAINING has sold more than 40,000 copies and has been the "dirty little secret" of moms on message boards and in parenting groups for years. Now, this proven, 6-step plan (called "the WHAT TO EXPECT of potty training books" for its comprehensive, no-nonsense voice) is available to the general trade audience for the first time"-- Provided by publisher.

Oh Crap submitted by SBNB on July 13, 2016, 7:03pm I checked out quite a few books about potty training because I had no idea where to start. I quickly found out that reading a 300-page book (or 5) was NOT the place to start. Dealing with a toddler, a house, and a husband who helps less than the toddler left little time to sit down with this book. I'm sure it has good information, and maybe I'll consult it if I hit a snag down the road, but reading this is not how I want to spend my precious free time right now.

Decent submitted by crp on August 10, 2019, 7:08am Decent but not for everyone. I especially didn’t appreciate her views on how Mother’s used to have their toddlers potty trained by 18mo. And she’s not a research based author- it’s all
About her personal experience. The Red Solo cup trick is interesting but not environmentally friendly at all. This said there are some general principles in the book that might be helpful if you can slog thru the entire 300 odd pages.

Worked! submitted by denisekim on July 25, 2020, 12:36am I bought this book and followed all the steps, and my almost 30-month-old son was potty trained within a week. For me, it really took the stress out of the process, having exact instructions and recommendations on what to do. I am planning to follow these steps with my daughter when she turns two!

Helpful but not the "Bible" of potty training submitted by gracekil on June 27, 2021, 7:59pm It was helpful to read about the potty issues for young ones, and to learn developmentally what's going on at that age. But the strategies she suggest are not for everyone, and the Montessori approach is like the opposite approach, so pick and choose what works for each family.

Worked for us! submitted by bcartm01 on June 17, 2022, 11:29pm My pediatrician recommended this book to me, and after reading it, I went straight into potty training my two year old (they were ready to start, I will say that). It worked! I will recommend this to anyone.

Helpful but not evidence based submitted by akrieg15 on June 28, 2023, 6:41pm Things I liked about this is that it gives you the confidence talk you need to start potty training. The 3 day method is helpful, but beyond that I don't think this is great. I also appreciate having things to say that don't involve shaming but don't make accidents ok as talked about in this book. I have read other books that said overnight potty training is a combo of hormones and bladder capacity, so you may be setting yourself up for torture by going for 24/7 dryness within the first week. Also it said that your child would go down to one poo per day and we are 6 months in and my son pooped 5xs today and can't make it that frequently. So we use pullups and everyone is happier and cleaner.
