Beautiful Art submitted by GSchne on July 23, 2022, 8:48pm I love this one. It's not a favorite of my young son, however, no matter how often I push it.

Caldecott Medal winner in 1963 submitted by Diananana on August 14, 2023, 5:02pm The Caldecott Medal is awarded annually for the most distinguished American picture book for children. Keats used collage to create the charming scenes in this book. He based the simple story on memories of his own childhood living in Brooklyn tenements. Quoting from Wikipedia, "While he was not trying to make a statement about race, The Snowy Day is one of the first books to feature a non-caricatured African American protagonist." So, in a time when it was not the norm, Keats normalized inclusiveness. The protagonist, Peter, appears in six of the author's later books. Check them out!
