Strong illustrations carry on a plot of their own alongside adorably predicable text that kids and parents will relate to and get a kick out of. The little boy loves his stuffed toy Bobo, but Earl the cat is a major Bobo-thief. It's classic, like Snoopy stealing Linus's blanket. This is short, sweet and really funny. After one or two instances, everyone involved will be yelling, "Earl!!"

ok, not great submitted by rimpopu on July 19, 2013, 1:01pm This is preschool level book about a boy Willy who wakes up one morning to find his lovey Bobo as stuffed monkey missing. When he finally finds it, he has to compete with his pet cat Earl to keep Bobo. There ensues a game of hide and seek along with tag between Willy and Earl for the possession of Bobo. Kids who walk around with their lovey all day long can easily relate to the main character. The story starts as a cute one but as it progresses it gets boring as it is same thing over and over. Still ok read for toddlers and younger ones but older kids will get bored after one read. The ending left my 3 year old worried as the boy seems to lose his toy again. So I wouldn't recommend it for bed time reading. The illustrations are simple sketches with not many bright colors. The only bright colors that stand out are Willy's pant, shirt and hair color.
