Book one in the internationally bestselling fantasy series, five villagers, after The Two Rivers is attacked by a savage tribe of half-men, half-beasts, flee into a world they barely imagined. In the Third Age, an age of prophecy when the world and time themselves hang in the balance, the Dark One, imprisoned by the Creator, is stirring in Shayol Ghul.

Beginning of Greatness submitted by steveiew on June 26, 2015, 4:54pm I found this book difficult to get into as there was much I didn't understand at first. However, give the book a chance and you will be hooked for the rest of the series.

Complicated and worth every minute submitted by Jannana37 on June 17, 2016, 10:27am I finished this book and said Wow and then read it all over again.
So much rich detail, I definitely benefitted from a second read. I am now hooked on this series.
I never thought I'd like fantasy but this series has changed my mind. And set the bar really high.
For all you mystery and adventure lovers, try this!

Good book submitted by ishhewitt on July 15, 2016, 11:12am It does have a little bit of a slow start, but if you can make it through to book 3, you'll be hooked! A great series.

Interesting Read submitted by titanic524 on June 20, 2017, 7:34am This book starts off a little slowly, but quickly picks up the pace. Readers and fans of Tolkian will notice several similarities between the two books.

The Eye of the World submitted by alperinj on July 7, 2017, 8:36pm Very exciting epic fantasy.

Eye of the World submitted by SBNB on June 18, 2019, 3:42pm I liked this book for the most part. It’s better than George R.R. Martin’s dense slogs, but it doesn’t even come close to the artistry of Patrick Rothfuss’s Name of the Wind. But by then end of it, I was fully engrossed in the world created and waiting impatiently for the next book.

Excited for the Amazon series submitted by kernelenchilada on July 2, 2019, 1:53pm Holy smokes this is a good book! It does start a little slow, but after page 60 its a whirlwind of action in a deeply rich world of exciting characters and magic

"Let the Dragon Ride Again on the Wind of Time!"

Worth It! submitted by Edigaet1 on August 6, 2021, 12:00pm It does have a slow start, but it picks up pretty well. I'm interested in the rest of the series now, after this!

Comfort reading submitted by severian on August 19, 2021, 6:45pm If you already enjoy fantasy novels, you’ll also likely enjoy this. It covers some familiar territory, but also puts an original spin on certain tropes. Basically, if you want to read a lot, have some good adventures, and not think too hard about what’s next in your reading queue, give this series a try!
