With their house in foreclosure, sisters India and Mouse and brother Finn are sent to stay with an uncle in Colorado until their mother can join them, but when the plane lands, the children are welcomed by cheering crowds to a strange place where each of them has a perfect house and a clock that is ticking down the time.

No passengers beyond this point review submitted by ben clingenpeel on June 25, 2011, 9:14am I think that if you are able to read this book without getting confused you are either A: Very smart, B: Didn't undersatnd the book, or C: You didn't acctually read the book. In this book you will meet India, Finn Tompkins (Finn likes his last name to bo known) and Mouse. Each one is very unique and has there own special way of problem solving, but when there house is in foreclosure and they have only enough for three plane tickets to Colorado, no one knows what to do. They take the plane tickets and go to a small town named Falling Bird, but they want to go stay with there uncle Red and they can't find any way out of the town, and the time is running out, will they ever see mom or uncle Red agian?

strange and confusing submitted by camelsamba on June 22, 2015, 4:31pm My first thought on reaching the end of this book: Well, THAT was strange!

The description above gives the plot summary. To elaborate slightly: three children are sent to live with their uncle in Colorado, but end up in some strange city in their own fantastic houses for 1 fantastic day. At the end of the day, they are unceremoniously dumped out of the house, and somehow know they have to work together to escape before time runs out. Can they do it? And what does it all mean? I was able to foresee the resolution but I will say that it seemed to leave my 11yo son slightly baffled as to what was real and what was...a dream? a hallucination? the land between time?
