Not the Typical Pete the Cat submitted by ks1287 on August 2, 2013, 12:20pm My daughter loves the Pete the Cat books so I was excited to borrow this book for her. However, it's not your typical Pete the Cat story with fun little songs focusing on numbers, colors, etc. My guess is that it's different because it's part of the "I Can Read!" series. So, while it's still a cute book and certainly good for kids learning to read, the average Pete the Cat fan will probably be disappointed.

bob likes to surf and Pete often waits to do things “later”- except he gets hot playing on the beach and after he slowly eases into the cool water, he decides he doesn’t want to wait anymore and wants to surf! It’s a good story with a good message.
